Cast of Characters

Lauren Gleason – Check out My Bio to know more about me.

GAINSVILLE PLAYERS

Stuart – My boyfriend since mid-April of 1999. I met him in class this past spring semester – we both had Thermodynamics and Mechanics of Materials. His hometown is Tampa and he went to Hillsborough High School (IB program). He is an aerospace engineering major and is entering his third year at the University of Florida. Some of his favorite things are hockey (roller or ice, it doesn’t matter), racecar driving, and South Park. By the way, his self-proclaimed idol is Darth Maul.

TALLAHASSEE COMPADRES

Kathe – One of my very best friends from Tallahassee and the high school years. A fellow Lincoln Trojan who I shared a lot with. We became acquainted in our sophomore-year Spanish I class. Now she is attending Tallahassee Community College and graduating soon. Some of her favorite things are anime, various music types, and changing her hair color. Near-future plans include saving up enough money to move out of her dad’s house and buying a new car (besides graduating).

Jennifer – My best friend from Tallahassee and the middle/high school years. She went to Cobb Middle and Lincoln High Schools with me. She was my best friend from the time we did a project on the ivory-billed woodpecker in sixth grade English class. Over the years we have shared everything from homework to gossip. Jenni is a mathematics major at Florida State University and entering her third year. Some of her favorite things are Broadway musicals, science fiction, and her live-in boyfriend Ryan.

Meghan – Another one of my best friends in Tallahassee from high school. We met in chorus during our junior when we liked to gossip about boys. She is studying at Florida State University now, but I don’t know what her major is (sorry). Some of her favorite things are a day off from work, kicking butt to “booty” music, and her boyfriend Danny (a good friend of mine too). She and Danny are apart now because he is on a ship for the next several months.

Danny – A guy I have known since kindergarten when his mother was my teacher. Over the years we have shared a lot, everything from elementary school plays to tons of gossip (even though we knew it was a bad habit). Now he is a cadet at the US Merchant Marine Academy and we don’t see him much. At the moment he is on a ship in Alaska! Some of his favorite things are country music, his car (a white Blazer), swimming, and making sure he is well dressed.

Allen – My ex-boyfriend from Tallahassee who I dated from March 1997 through March 1999. He is two years younger than I am so he just graduated from Lincoln High School last May. In August he will be going to school at the University of Florida and for now his declared major is aerospace engineering. We met because we were both in Mu Alpha Theta, chorus, All-State Chorus, “The Music Man,” and brain bowl during my senior year of high school. Some of his favorite things are Risk (the board game), Nintendo, and making money working at Publix.

SORORITY SISTERS

Emmy – A fellow Alpha Chi Omega sorority sister who happens to be a really good friend. She is a civil engineering major so we have taken some of the same classes. She had possession of my protractor last semester and she only gave it back when I bought her one for her birthday. Some of her favorite things are “The X-Files,” “Law and Order,” and getting into funny situations.

(EX-)ROOMMATES

Liesl – One of my roommates from this past summer. I hadn’t ever met her before she moved into out apartment, but she is the most interesting person to talk to. She is a history major and entering her third year at the University of Florida. Some of her favorite things are “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” Disney, and soap operas.

Brandy – My other roommate from the summer. I hadn’t met her before she moved in either, but I wish I had. She watches “Days of Our Lives” so I had fun talking with her about it. Her boyfriend, Jacob, is in the Navy and he visited us twice while I was living in the apartment. Some of her favorite things are “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Xena,” and her Furbie (that I loved to play with too).

Rebecca – One of my ex-roommates that I lived with during my first year at UF (East Hall). She is from Orlando and she went to Winter Park High School. Now she has a dual major in music and political science (last I knew) at the University of Florida and entering her third year. She is a member of Sigma Kappa and Sigma Alpha Iota sororities. Some of her favorite things are singing, gossiping, and being a social butterfly.

Ivy – Another one of my ex-roommates, but I lived with her during my second year at UF (in the sorority house). She is originally from Miami and she went to Mast High School. She changed her major once while we were roommates, but I think it has been accounting since then. This year will be her third at the University of Florida. She joined Alpha Chi Omega in the spring of 1998. Some of her favorite things are her art, her computer, and meeting boys.
